Passionate about goats
Ursula Raemy has a heart full of love for her 120 adorable young goats. She shares her enthusiasm with all her visitors.
The two rams know their jobs. One looks after the mature females, ready to breed again; the other takes care of the young and inexperienced. From April on, they share the flock day and night, with every opportunity for reproduction. The older females look after the younger ones, while Ursula tends to the pregnancies – up to 100 a year. It is joyful work, even if sometimes heart-rending. The goats grow large over the summer, and give birth in late September. With the coming of the new generation, milk production is at its height.
The kids are a blessing for the Raemy family breeders in Schwarzsee. They guarantee that the farm is sustainable. The sale of milk and cheese from the farm are an essential source of income, while the animals are their owners’ pride and joy. “We are delighted to share our happiness with visitors of all ages. The kids love the attention and the cuddles, and give back a hundredfold.”
