ViaRegio: "Les chemins du Gruyère, le retour aux sources"
The Gruyère Pays-d'Enhaut Natural Park has joined forces with ViaStoria, the centre of Swiss transport history, to create two hiking tours which explore the origins of Gruyère AOC and L'Etivaz AOC. Between the 16th and 18th century, these cheeses were especially prized, so much so that the sellers became known as the "cheese barons". Vestiges of their work, success and wealth can still be seen across the local landscape and villages.
