On request Fribourg Tourism organize guided tours of the cathedral.
 

The Madeleine Hermitage in Räsch near Düdingen is carved into the cliffs above Lake Schiffenen. It consists of different rooms measuring 120 metre in total.
 

The "Basse-Ville" is the name given to the historic old town of Fribourg, with its many churches, convents, bridges and fountains. It is also the birth place of "Bolze", a popular culture and language.
 

Everyone in Fribourg knows the funicular as it is one of the town's curiosities. The line was opened in 1899 and links the town centre to the Basse-Ville (the lower area of the town).
 

A visit to the castle is a journey across eight centuries of architecture, history and culture. The castle was the residence of the counts of Gruyères.
 

Lake la Gruyère is one of the prettiest artificial lakes in Switzerland.

An hour-long excursion on a barge to discover La Gruyère lake. Admire the cliffs of Rossens and venture onto dry land to visit Ogoz island with its ruins and restored chapel.
 

This fortified village, called an oppidum, dates from the Celtic period, about 124 BC.
 

The Rotary bridge provides for cyclists, pedestrians, roller skaters and people in wheel chairs a means of crossing the Broye canal which joins Lake Murten to Lake Neuchatel.
 

The Lamberta caves are man-made tunnels excavated in sandstone.
 

A funicular and cable-car take you to the top of the Moléson (altitude 2'002 m), where the world's most powerful binoculars reveal an impressive panorama.
