365 steps up the tower and closer to the Lord, marvel at the view of the town and of the Fribourg Prealps.
Cathedral Tower closures in August:
Saturday August 21: Tower open in the afternoon (1pm-6pm). Closed in the morning
Saturday August 28: Tower open in the morning (10am-1pm). Closed in the afternoon
Seasonal opening hours of the tower of the cathedral from March 1st and November 30st, 2021:
Monday to Saturday: from 10 am to 6 pm open non-stop
Sunday and public holiday: from 12 pm to 5 pm
Last entrance 30 minutes before closing time.
Opening hours depend on religious service schedules*
The access to the tower is now from the outside of the cathedral on the left. With the entrance token, you have to go up a small staircase that leads to the turnstile and then to the tower. Follow the signs in front of the cathedral.
Entrance tokens are available at the Marchands Merciers, the information point on the right-hand side of the cathedral.
Monday-Friday 10 am - 06 pm
Saturday 9 am - 06 pm
Sunday noon - 5 pm
Please read the protection plan opposite before climbing to the tower. Important is:
- Hand disinfection and distance are required. Wearing a mask is compulsory in the cathedral, in the tower and on the platform at the top.
- A maximum of 20 people are allowed at the same time in the whole tower (stairs and platform).
Important information: From Monday, 13 September 2021, a Covid certificate is required to climb the tower of the Cathedrale!
