Day 1 - La Gruyère

The weekend is approaching, departure for the mountains, with a stopover for the night at the Hotel de la Cascade in Jaun and their magnificent family rooms, entirely wooded and bright. Children are the kings at the Gruyères Castle! Fairy tellers dressed in medieval costumes reveal big and small secrets on a treasure hunt. The workshops of Maison Cailler are another paradise for children ... mmmh the smell of chocolate is delicious. And last but not least, stimulate your brain cells! The HouseTrap escape room in Bulle and its 450 m2 of riddles and mysteries will make your family excursion a real adventure. Have a stop-over in the Restaurant La Pierre à Catillon in Moléson-sur-Gruyères for a delicious «moitié-moitié» Fondue (Gruyère AOP – Vacherin fribourgeois AOP). Attention night owls: The Museum Night on November 14 offers various activities and entertainment for young and old.

Day 2 - Murten & Estavayer-le-Lac

After a restful night in the Hotel Murten, the Papiliorama in Kerzers or the ice rink in Murten offer the right start to the family day. After a joyful walk along the city walls of Murten, the whole family gets together around the delicious Nidelkuchen. The incomparable creaminess of this tart will seduce your taste buds! With fresh energy, young and old explorers set out for the Vully caves. In Estavayer-le-Lac, walkers explore the Middle Ages thanks to the game "The quest of Humbert the Bastard", and there is even a chance to win rewards for the correct answers. Here, children also like the unique Museum of Estavayer-le-Lac and its frogs. Everyone can let off steam in the Laurapark in Payerne and when the night falls, the open-air exhibition of Christmas cribs in Estavayer-le-Lac will put a big smile on children's faces (from December 5th of 2020). After a dinner in the Frogs & Roses restaurant, the ideal place to spend the night is the nearby hotel Le Rive Sud.

Day 3 - Schwarzsee

The Lake Schwarzsee at the foot of the Pre-Alps attracts with the approximately 4 km long itinerary for kids, the “Häxewääg”. What can be true about the legends and fairy tales from the Sense district? When winter is particularly cold, the Lake Schwarzsee at the foot of the Pre-Alps magically transforms into a huge ice surface. Fortunately, you do not have to wait for these extreme temperatures to put on your skates. From November 2020 to March 2020, the mobile artificial ice rink offers lots of fun in the midst of a beautiful landscape. As an alternative, we recommend a visit to the Sensler Museum, where families can learn all about the region's cultural wealth. Then the parents treat themselves to a break in the wellness area of the Hostellerie am Schwarzsee and the children can splash around in the pool. At the end of the family day there is an invigorating meal for everyone in the Gypsera restaurant.
