Switzerland Tourism suggests you crossing Switzerland with the Grand Tour of Switzerland, a comparable route to the mythical " Road 66 " which will make you discover Switzerland including Fribourg Region.

In Fribourg Region, the tour begins in the wine-producing region of the Vully, located on the shores of Lake Murten, and well-known for its good wines, its fresh perch fillets and the famous Vully pie (baked cream tart). Then cross the remparts of the medieval town of Murten where you will immediately be plunged into a mediterranean feeling.

The road continues to Fribourg, the canton's economic capital which is known for its good gastronomy and where you will find a cultural treasure trove that goes back to the Middle Ages.

In La Gruyère, the route goes along the Lake Gruyère, the ideal opportunity to have a stop : discover the water sports or visit the beautiful Ogoz Island. The road continues up to Broc where the chocolate is made for more than 100 years in the Maison Cailler, a gourmet visit not to be missed. La Maison du Gruyère, situated in some kilometers, is the next gastronomic stop. Then visit the magnificent medieval city of Gruyères and savour a good fondue, as well as meringues with Gruyère double cream. The Grand Tour of Switzerland leaves Fribourg Region in the valley of Intyamon, situated on the territory of the Gruyère Pays-d’Enhaut Regional Nature Park, a true haven of peace in the middle of the nature.
