The song of the soul
The Festival International du Lied was founded in 2001 by mezzo-soprano Marie-Claude Chappuis and her mother Thérèse Chappuis.
Highly acclaimed and recognized by the international press and its enthusiastic audience, the Festival has grown to become one of the most coveted Chamber-Music Festivals in Europe over the past fifteen years. It assembles a group of internationally renowned artists in Fribourg, the bilingual university town in western Switzerland, to showcase a high-level program of ample variety.
