The Musée de Charmey offers a contemporary view of the regional heritage as well as of contemporary, regional and supra-regional artistic expression.
Its favourite materials are wood, clay and paper.
A permanent section of the museum plunges visitors into the Chartreuse de la Valsainte, a famous monastery located in the hills above Cerniat.
The Musée de Charmey is best known for the Viviane Fontaine International Paper Triennial, which has been on display since 1993.
The Musée de Charmey is housed in a 17th-century chalet built from the original materials of the former Platzhaus in Jaun.
