The fairy Galmeline reveals the secrets of the Galmwald and its 300-year-old oaks.
This path starts at the forest hut (Forsthütte), which is located 200 m north of Galmguets hamlet. On the way, 9 stops are offered. This hike is ideal for families or those who wish to enjoy the calm and invigorating air of a vast forest. Its history dates back to the Mediation Act of 1803 initiated by Napoleon Bonaparte, which made it the property of the State of Fribourg. Unique in Switzerland, Galmwald is a fully-fledged commune in the Lake District. The engineer of the forest district is the sworn syndic. Its only constituents are wildlife and trees.
