The creations of Liliana Gassiot and Anne-Dominique Hubert will resound from 25 June within the walls of the Château de Mézières. Echoing each other through the common use of embroidery on wallpaper, their personal artistic languages nevertheless open the way to two very distinct poetic universes.
Liliana Gassiot, born in 1959 in Romania, lives and works in Montreux. Trained at the School of Fine Arts in Iasi (Romania) and at the Cantonal School of Art in Lausanne, she teaches visual arts. The artist enhances, inhabits and animates photos, fabrics, papers or wallpapers with black or white threads, accentuating a detail, creating unexpected links and inviting us to immerse ourselves in intimate and touching worlds.
Anne-Dominique Hubert, born in 1952 in Geneva, lives and works in Basel and in Greece during the summer. She is a graduate of the Ecole supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Geneva and the Werkseminar in Zurich, as well as being trained in body expression, dance theatre and gestalt-psychotherapy. Her poetic and profound works often find their origin in objects or supports, whose history and traces mark them.
