Exhibition by Thomas Blank
Thomas Blank (*1973) is a Swiss artist who has been working with glass for over 25 years. In 1996 he moved to the United States to study art at San Francisco State University. He graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor's degree in sculpture and returned to Switzerland to continue his work as an independent artist and educator. He worked in several different studios and gained professional experience in Murano, Italy.
In 2020 he founded his own company Open Glass Studio with his partner, in which he produces objects in limited series.
For this exhibition, Thomas Blank was inspired by the colour spectrum for his multi-coloured blown glass bottles. Other objects demonstrate the dynamism of colour according to the thickness of the material in the form of cast glass paintings.
As part of his exhibition, Thomas Blank will give glassblowing demonstrations on the weekend of 7 and 8 May 2022 from 10 am to 4 pm.
