Exhibition - A look back at the restoration of the Château de Mézières.
Who can imagine today, when walking around the castle of Mézières, the immense work that lies behind its current appearance? On the occasion of its 15th anniversary, the museum reveals the behind-the-scenes restoration work that has made it possible to save this exceptional heritage. The emphasis is on the conservation of the wallpapers, but the façades, parquet floors, terracotta floors, neo-classical fireplaces, Louis XV doors and woodwork have also been treated with the greatest care. Old photos show the dilapidated state of the château before the work was carried out and highlight the extent of the work required to restore the old walls to their former splendour. A tribute to the impressive know-how of all the people who worked on the enhancement of this precious heritage.
