A turbulent comedy by author Wolfgang Deichsel.
The well-behaved couple Gfeller is in an uncomfortable situation. On their way home after a wet and merry party, they collided with a pedestrian. The man hit, named Etzel, sustains serious injuries and is partially paralyzed.
But what if you want to spare yourself the inconvenience of dealing with the police and the impending nursing home costs? In order to get away scot-free, the couple decides to take the injured man into their home, to care for him and nurse him back to health.
Soon it becomes clear to the Gfellers that his injuries are probably far less serious than he claims. But how do they get rid of this malingerer? When the nosy neighbor Mrs. Lutz bursts in and pokes her nose everywhere, the situation threatens to get completely out of hand.
